Be careful applying a displacement hull formula to a catamaran. Long, narrow hulls don't strictly obey the displacement hull speed formula. It takes much less additional energy for a cat to exceed hull speed than for a mono, especially if the cat is light displacement (for its size). For example, look at Richard Wood's Skoota power cats. If an under 30' cat can be pushed to 15 knots by a modest outboard, it should be possible to push a large cat to significantly higher speeds for a short time.
