Re: [Electric Boats] Need help with choosing the right motor!

Bendik,

I don't think the higher rpm/volt is necessarily an advantage. I went the other way. It all comes down to what you want. If you need RPM over and above that which say a D135 would give in order to make power, that is you don't want to run out of volts - well fair enough. If the motor is a 95 and not a 95R they are quite different beasts. The R being more expensive than my D135 I think. The 143 is similar to my D135. As Myles Twete kindly pointed out.
In equation form:Kt (N-m/amp) = Kb ( V/rad/sec)
The performance graphs aren't online these days. You can always mail Lynch motors or Saietta. And as was thinking if you are on a budget you might be better off with an ME0913 Motoenergy or similar as cheaper. In fact if you don't mind importing from the US, have a look at Thunderstruck boat kits. If doing all yourself you'll end up spending more, not to mention having to buy a programmer for a controller and then figure out the settings. Out of interest Thoosa generally use the D127 Lynch or Saietta/AGNI equivalent.
