Been watching him for a couple months now. Very interesting lad.

Subject: Re: [Electric Boats] Electric outboard
Check out this guy in Panama. He has several other electric outboard construction videos and this is just one of his more recent one. This is on his latest twin outboard solar catamaran.

He also has several videos of the different solar powered electric boats he's built from scratch. He's the kind of guy that makes his own switches with copper pipe. Real "FlintStone" engineering at it's best. The guy is a genius with fiberglass and pvc.

Hi all,
I am new to the group and wanted some advice. I have a 6 hp johnson,
long shaft that I want to convert to electric. The goal is to put it
on a 26' x 4' flat bottom displacement boat and compete in a 300
mile boat race. I do not want to win, I just want to finish. I was
planning on using several solar panels(100 watt+) .
So... Is this even possible, if yes then what would be the most
efficient motor/voltage/panel/battery combo ?
Thanks
