One thing worth doing when looking at panels is obviously to get the largest ones you can and then calculate the Watts per square metre of each make you are looking at and compare. If say a 15% efficiency panel you'll get maybe about 120 Watts rated STC per square meter of panel but it'll vary a bit subject to make as cell and panel output per square metre are two different things. Helps you get most bang for your buck in area at an affordable price. In UK there is quite a good market in secondhand panels. Mono seems better choice. Note with Victron MPPTs you can add panels in parallel later to what you want as it has built in limiting that way if you would go over voltage in series. Also it is possible to add different size panels together. The guy I mentioned before gave me this info:
