Linux Mint rules ;) You could use Wine? Anyhow, oops re shunt. Mine is 500A/50mV. Re "DC into the controller should be about 1.43x the motor current". If I take my battery power using actual (not nominal voltage) and current and then measure power at motor, the factor would be about 1.25. Or as Mike Gunning of Electric Yachts has said elsewhere he'd expect most systems from battery power to shp to be 80 to 85% of battery power or 1.25 to 1.18 times shp.
