Re: [Electric Boats] Need help with choosing the right motor!

John, I could not find detailed performance graphs for the 127 and 135 motors. Only the 143 motor you attached in an earlier email.
Comparing the 95 to the 143, I think the 95 performes well enough. The higher rpm/volt for the 95 motor seems to be of an advantage: approx 2kw,90% eff. at 1600rpm (24V), and 20kW at 4000rpm (60V) should fit my boat very well I believe.
And I guess the 129,135,143 are more expensive than the 95 as well...

King_of_NewOrleans,
what are you refering to here:

"I don't think it would be a major issue, either. There are reasons to go brushless, but this isn't one of them."

Yes it is two motors, but the price is for one. He also sells Alltrax AXE4855 for 300dollar. But  will wait for shipping prices..

John: I will check out the other motors you suggest! And thanks for the link to the danish company (I did not know about them). I sent them an email. Yes, I am looking for second hand. Very low-budget project.

For a DIY project, you could use an old marine transmission for a reduction gear and thrust bearing, and use the mechanical reversing, if it is a concern.
