[Electric Boats] Re: solar cup

 

I get it, April fool's, right?

It's amazing how quickly cars transitioned from oil to solar after the World Solar Challenges started in 1987. I'm sure that the boating world will convert just as quickly.

All kidding aside, while these programs are critical for the experimental development of new technologies, the problem is very narrowly defined and the solutions are very specialized. It may take decades before any advancements found here will trickle down to a small segment of the recreational or commercial boating world.
