In my opinion, the biggest advantage that AGM batteries have over flooded cells is that they will deliver more energy from the same rating under high amp loads. Look up Peukert Effect for a detailed decsription of the issue. IMHO, this attribute alone makes AGM batteries a better buy than flooded cells.

I have made multiple posts that show the differences between three major battery types with the math done to show the available duration (range). Since your boat is fairly heavy, you will see higher loads than most of the people here and the Peukert effect will probably play a larger role in your effective range.
