Hello,
I was at the Wye landing where I expected to see the boats at the half way point from around 11 AM to 1 PM but did not see any electric boats !? Does anyone know what time they arrived? at Wye?Landing ???I thought I read that the race started at 10 AM and included a mandatory 10 minute stop at Wye Landing, so I expected to see some electric boats arrive by 1PM, did the race start late???? I assumed that maybe the race was canceled do to windy conditions and left around 1 PM

The 9th annual Wye Island Marathon took place on Friday October 2d, 2009. It was a bit breezy, and various minor mishaps cut the finishing competitors to only two. Jay Bliss's Elektra, with a Prius battery pack edged out Jim Campbell's perennial competitor E-Canoe for the win.
The event got some online press in Popular Mechanics. Although the article is fun reading, it makes the even sound a bit more challenging than it is. Any competent production boat can do the course in comfort and style.
