It would depend on the system you are installing. If it does not have a throttle control unit, than you may want to modify the one you do have. Your existing throttle would still enter the location of the new electric motor and could connect. Contact the seller of your new system. If you are buying separate pieces and then configuring a new system, draw it out on paper.

In the process of ripping out engine, fuel tank, etc. I have one question from those more experienced. Is there any benefit in retaining the old throttle and gear shift that are on the Edson post mount? I think I can remove them with modest effort but reinstalling would be a significant challenge.
