I kept one (port) and removed one (starboard) . I'm thinking the control might come in handy to control something. Like possibly a brake for the shaft or some type of switching on a future electrical project. I recently took off the starboard side (throttle) so I could make room to permanently mount my electric throttle in that location. While I took out the engine of course I kept the fuel tank. I may turn it into a wash down water tank for cockpit cleanups if I can clean it out enough.

Subject: [Electric Boats] Converting My Pearson 300
In the process of ripping out engine, fuel tank, etc. I have one question from those more experienced. Is there any benefit in retaining the old throttle and gear shift that are on the Edson post mount? I think I can remove them with modest effort but reinstalling would be a significant challenge.
Thanks for the help.
