Hi Perry and Victor

electricocean was one of the companies I referred to located in Finland, the other is opam solar. As you said, the homepages in Finish only and I am not sure if they are delivering or have ever delivered propulsion systems to customers. The system depicted on the homepage looks really solid, that's right. I have been in contact with the owner of electricocean and he is very helpful and answered me some questions regarding torqeedo motors (he tested one on his boat www.electricocean.fi/blog) and batteries. He didn't mention that he would be happy to sell a system of his own... Maybe he was thinking that it's no option for me since I was asking about the torqeedo engine. Also OPAM solar had a page on electric propulsion for sailboats, but it is not operative anymore. One still can find it with google, though.

I sort of like this solution since there is no fancy electronics which can break down and it is based on a brushed motor which you can just connect directly to the battery if necessary.
