Re: [Electric Boats] Introduction

Bill:

Actually you may want to take a look at the stringer work that was done on my 30 foot monohull starting with these posts first:

Subject: [Electric Boats] Introduction

Hi, I'm new to the group. I recently decided to re-power my 30-foot monohull sailboat with an electric motor, so I'm here looking for advice and experience.

My initial research turned up Sailboat Kits from Thunderstruck Motors, both 8.5 and 10.5 KW, both 48-volt systems, each under $2,000 (minus the batts). Has anyone used these?

I started thinking and engine compartment projects because I need to replace rotten stringers that hold the engine mounts for my current diesel. Will switching to electric mean a different approach to stringers?

Thanks, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Bill
