I ran across a nice conversion to electric in Alameda, CA. I have seen the sailboat, and talked to a friend of the owner's about it. Owner is moving, so must sell. It is currently powered 3-ways: sail, electric, gas outboard. It had a slightly bent bow pulpit, though that may have been straightened by now. The electric drive is cog belted, adjustable... fairly standard and good choices. When I saw this Newport, it had 4 not-large 12 volt batteries for the electric drive.
