RE: [Electric Boats] Batteries

Sally,

I would live to pic your brains (David’s too) so your welcome to come down anytime and I may even be up there this summer.

Thanks for the pic Steve.  The Northstars are really a versatile shape.  We have 4 of them on the 48 volt Thoosa system in our motor launch in Annapolis. They work perfectly.  I would love to come down and see your boat sometime - actually, David would be the one that is most interested since he understands all of the electrical side.  I used to sell Lagoons when we first moved to Annapolis in 1998.

Sally,

The NorthStar’s are what I’m using for my Propulsion bank. See attached Pic.

We talked with the East Penn rep at IBEX.  My husband is an electrical engineer and he felt their batteries would work well for an electric propulsion system.  However, the one battery he has zeroed in on as the one that fits best is the Northstar Energy 1 battery.  You might want to look at them as well.

Just want to know if anyone has used East Penn AGM batteries. Turns out I may be able to get these for less than lifeline.. If the quality difference of lifeline worth the price difference.
