Chris,

Did you mean overVOLTAGE protection or overCURRENT protection?

Overvoltage is easy to adjust with resistors. I recommend NOT the adjustable ones, though you could use those to "dial in" the best resistance for a 3.6v max, then replace the dialed varistor with precise or combined-to-be-precise fixed resistors. The adjustable resistors may float over time (and corrosion) and crap out your cool batteries.

OverCURRENT is beyond me.
