Well, Toyota pays $200 to get a Prius battery back - (NiMh, not Li) almost 10% of the cost of a new one. They must have a significant recycle potential.

I do wonder how much fuel / Energy it takes to make a lead acid battery compared to the newer lithium type,Lead can be recycled but what about the lithium? I guess the answer would is where I would end up making my final decision on what type of batteries I put in my sailboat.
