[Electric Boats] Re: USCG Boatbuilder's Handbook Electrical Systems

The document provided is interesting, but is more focused on "house" wiring on boats.  In fact, the referenced manual describes how to wire gasoline powered boats as described in the purpose and applicability section of the document.

183.401 Purpose and applicability.

(a) This subpart applies to all boats that have gasoline engines, except outboard engines, for electrical generation, mechanical power, or propulsion. 


There are different standards that apply to electric drives, and traction storage banks.  James has mentioned a few of those requirements already.


Just a reminder to follow the proper rules and guidelines for the project at hand.
