We have a Thunderstruck kit, 8.5kw that I believe is not available anymore. We have been very happy with it. I would not go smaller than this for a boat this size. We replaced a Farymann 12hp diesel that by all reports was underpowered for our Tartan 27-2. We have 6 Trojan 8V T890's which are 190 amp batteries for 48 v. we get about 4 hours on a charge. Last summer we did put 4 hours on it, at 3.5-4 knots largely against a 10 kt.headwind. There was not much left. I would do this conversion again if I had to do it over again.
