[Electric Boats] Re: sun power

 

I never run solely off the solar panel, by design. I have a 110W panel, and a 12V trolling motor. Last summer I used an 80AH lead acid battery. I could motor for about 1.5h (35A) from the battery, and then it needed charging, which took 2 or 3 sunny days.

I found I could sail or use the sculling oar most of the time, so the limited solar/battery capacity was sufficient for my needs. I never plugged in to charge. That was the goal.
