I repurposed my wet exhaust as the manual bilge pump discharge port. My boat used to discharge the electric and manual pumps into the cockpit. It made for a great bilge alarm by apparently isn't up to code.
So manual bilge pulp went to the wet exhaust through hull and electric goes to the former fuel vent which is about 4" away from the wet exhaust. A good compounding took care of all the old diesel soot marks and she's stayed white ever since.
My engine room ventilation is via two 3" vents in the cockpit, under the aft bench, so fairly well protected from any weather. But the new electric is so much smaller than the diesel that the engine compartment is positively cavernous at 24" wide by 30" high by about 7' long (entire area under cockpit sole) so there's not much need for forced air ventilation. A 1-hour run at 70A didn't raise the motor temperature above 80C. My bank is only 100Ah so I can't run too much longer and harder than that.

The engine compartment does not have a blower nor good ventilation. Any thoughts on using the old mixed exhaust hose as a vent output? Attaching a small blower fan on it, mounted near the motor controller so it sucks some air over the electronics then blows it out the old diesel exhaust tube? Maybe on a temp thermostat so its not always on. Or should I just throw away the old exhaust hose?
