I'm no expert on stringers. Yes, you'll have less weight for the motor. But, I'm not sure about the torque. My feeling is to rebuild them as strong as the originals. BTW I also used my old stringers as the base for the battery platform.

Yeah I need to rebuild the stringers once I pull the diesel out, but I wonder if they need to be up to the same spec? There's obviously less weight and vibration in an electric motor, so could the stringers be smaller? Or is there some other approach entirely for securing electric propulsion to the boat?
