[Electric Boats] Re: battery costs

 

Hi Andrew,

It's pretty easy to do the math. 24V x 50Ah = 1200Wh. At a cost of $800, that's $0.66/Wh. Most of the preferred vendors of lithium cells suggested by group members sell the standard prismatic cells for $0.40/Wh +/- $0.05. The 24V assembled battery would have the advantage of fewer connections to get to 48V, but the 50Ah means thta most people would also have to do some parallel connections too, so that advantage may not be so great.
