James is right, in a sense.
He is also technically astute, very much.
Nevertheless, huge numbers of lion and forklift batteries around 2-3-4-6
volts are used every day, with no problems, in general.
What james says, basically, is that as battery banks get bigger, they
are more dangerous.
Agree 100% - 200% !!!
Big Batteries, or any major energy source, is always going to be
potentially dangerous.
The good part about lion batteries/packs is that a 0.1 cent electronic
fuse, will stop the problem, almost always.
One of the dangers of a really good/powerful lion battery packs is that
they look harmless.
I used to deal with a 70 kW / 380V from a generator at our facility for
CNC tools.
I was very, very careful with the leads, and all personnel were trained
to treat them as highly dangerous.
Soon, people will learn to respect them.
A small tsla-type battery pack is just as dangerous, gives no warning,
makes no noise.
The battery is NOT dangerous on its own.
Just like guns, jet fighters, are not dangerous.
I used to work on Mig 21bis as a mechanic with major power used to start
the engines, from the ground side auxiliary power unit.
