Re: [Electric Boats] Re: Running an electric motor connected to the old Gasoline engine?

I found another outfit that makes the electric motor pods - the weblink is: http://www.bellmann.nu/?lang=uk   and they are in the Netherlands. They have wide variety of electric re-powering equipment and accessories.

Why on earth would you want to have a "dead" gasoline engine in-line with an electric motor/engine? If the one cylinder Vire 6 is no functioning, remove it and replace with a small diesel or an Electric motor and batteries and if going to be used for more than an hours a genset.
Have you looked at the E-pod system for small boats? http://www.re- e-power.com/ index.html
- - You could totally remove the Vire 6 seal up the drive shaft and mount an E-pod on the bottom of your hull.
