The major advantage to running a larger prop is more usable out put at a slower rpm which makes for less turbulence in the water. less cavitation etcDan @ lostboys

Thanks Nicholas,Awesome video. Nothing wrong with needing to be convinced, Im the same way.Im going to look into what a 48" prop, e-hybrid solution will produce on this hull.Best RegardsGeorgeIn a message dated 1/11/2011 8:49:40 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, ibles_world@yahoo.com writes:It has a 30" Maxi full feathering prop on it right now, Im trying to keep it, #1 because its expensive, but also because it drives to boat at 10+ knots, Also it allows the boat to sail sans prop drag, after all the boat is a sail boat.....I will need to be convinced that the electric motors will need a larger prop to do the same speed. I realize that electric motors have more usable torque, but it should just make this prop function better than running it with an ICE, but to answer your question I could fit a 48" prop on to it If I so desired and found one...
You can see a video of the hull, this is the previous owners ex-husband... http://vimeo.com/9893480
