I have a little different mind set. Been a boat builder and designer
for 50 years.
Mainly multihulls and sail
In 2000 I did a prototype 50% of a design for a Indonesian client that
due to economy fell thru and wound up with the boat.
Been through a few changes.
Right now has an almost new 2 cycle that doesn't use E10 and fuel costs
and availability are an issue and with E15 or higher coming online
looking at options.
It is a power trimaran, about 4000 lbs, 32 ft OA. Hull speed is about 15
mph.
Is as I say now an outboard but has enough room and laid out to take an
inboard, If I pull the fuel tanks have a 4 x 7 ft battery platform. Has
a 6 x 14 ft hardtop for solar and room for a small generator and fuel tank
Have no problem with the shaft log etc. done that.
Looking at this power unit
http://www.electricmotordepot.com/products/Electric-Boat-Conversion-Kit-140Amp.html
seems a full kit so all I need is to figure mounting it, the coupling
with a 2:1 reduction ( mechanical or belts)
Any other feedback, references or suggestions.
