[Electric Boats] Re: Controller Question

Are you aware that both of these controllers are fixed speed?

In addition to being fixed speed, the ME501 will not start up if the shaft is turning, according to the web site. Might be awkward in marine use...

It appears that the variable speed controller that was used in the electric outboard motors is no longer shown on their site.

I am using a mars ME0201013001 motor and I see they offer 2 controllers for it on their web site. One a burnished motor controller model # ME0502BN for $300.00 and one # ME0501 for $60.00. The only difference I can figure out is the first one is made for wet applications. Does any one have any insight in this and or any suggestions as to this controller or a better choice. Thank you.
