Yes and the results are varied, dependent on the battery's history.
Most have a poor track record of recovery owing to the permanent damage that occurred to the cell while overheating and dehydrating.
For the AGMs I have recovered, I've simply left the cell open and treated it like a FLA.
FLA has a sediment trap area in the bottom and space for reserve electrolyte at the top. AGMs that I have uncovered has neither of these voids in the case.
