Re: [Electric Boats] Wiring issue

Sam,

Your concept is fine, there are a number of people that used chargers running off of generators to extend their range while underway. But different chargers react differently.

I read in this group that the Dual Pro charger is not built to be used as a power supply and will temporarily shut down due to thermal overload when used as you suggest. When I was researching chargers, I seem to remember that the Dual Pro guys confirmed that when asked directly.

I am hoping to use my Elcon charger like that, but it has large heatsink fins and a powered cooling fan built onto it so I believe that it stands a better chance of standing up to the demand. And from Mike's reports, the Zivan seems to work too.
