That could be it - I was going on memory, but turning it now it does
look closer to that.
The lower speed, higher torque motor just seemed to be more or less
idling near its top speed, so I couldn't see what it could really do
if unleashed.
Of course, we may be talking at cross purposes here. I want my 14'
aluminum runabout to get up on a plane, even if a "soft" one, which
is perhaps a bit of an unusual objective for electric. For larger
displacement hull speeds, the gear ratio would probably be just fine.
