Re: [Electric Boats] nice motor

Thought you might like it. Some clever engineering there. I think part of the reason for such high voltage is high RPM.
Takes a while to overcome the inductance of the winding and so voltage is the game if T is short.
The weight to power ratio knocked my socks off.
I have been researching less than 1 kw for a trike. Sunny Ca permits such transportation and as gasoline heads to $8 I think an electric
is just the ticket. Too bad you cant pull the power head off the dingy's outboard and drop it on a frame to run about the harbor.
Next lifetime.

just looked at the specs of that YASA-400.... sheesh and wow both..
90kW continuous about 120hp, but its wanting 700 volts supplied.
7500 rpm with that size weight and power, it'd make a hell of an outboard!
the 156kW 220hp short duration peak power for a hole-shot, yeeehaaaw..
short trip electric drag boat new record setter? maybe!
those can be stackable too, 440hp for 7-8 seconds or less?
(shhh.. caffeine can make ya diabolical sometimes)
