Hi Jenny , I have their 1st prototype still insatlled on the LION, as they used my boat for the first testing. Mine is 24v, has a controller mounted neatly on top and a circular alum. case with steel shaft. It still runs great.
I have seen one of the newer motors inside and out - maybe the one they've replaced with the newer model, but I think they are of very similar design.. I believe they are 24 V to 36V, stainless steel 1" output shaft with some sort of hi-tech seal, and the forward and rev. thrust bearings are internal, but installed so they are easily replaceable. Thus no gearing or reduction mechanism and all forces are in line with the prop shaft. The case itself has an O-ring type seal in a machine groove all around the perimeter and the wiring exit is also sealed. They really need to get more and better info and pictures on their site - I just looked this am , and I can tell you their product is light years ahead of their web site.. priorities I guess...
Best Regards,

I like the waterproof enclosure, I'd like to know if it is actually waterproof, and how they did that with a rotating shaft in what appears to be a simple aluminium case? Do you know what motor it uses?

That looks interesting but I can't find technical detail on the website, maybe I'm overlooking something, but they have 3 models (one discontinued and one in development by the looks of it), do you have the links to the pdf's or technical details including the controller?Nobody has a simpler system on the market than Arby Burnt at Advanced E. marine porpulsion - one unit contains motor and controller directly connected to the prop shaft, power leads connect to battery bank and a small wire out to the control at the helm ..
