Samuel,
Mike has posted many times about his attempts to use his Dual-Pro charger as a power supply while underway. While he can describe his experiences in more detail, the Dual Pro will not support sustained operation under heavy load (i.e. 15A for the Dual Pro). Mike has been able to use his Zivan charger to extend his range as long as the fuel in his Honda generator holds out.
The good news from Brian is the amperage that the Elcon was able to sustain using a Honda 2000W generator as a power source. I think that most of the converted boats on this board acheive an acceptable cruising speed with 25A @ 48V.
Fair winds,
