RE: [Electric Boats] looking for assistence hooking up controller

James,

The electric motor company I run also uses the Kelly KBL controllers and I recommend what Alberto said, contact Kelly support for assistance and the walkthrough you are looking for. We like their product so much we switched all of our current motors to the 24201 or better depending upon power requirements to run the boat at the speed or range you need. There is much versatility in the computer programming as well. Get a serial cable (with a computer that has a serial connection) and you can adjust many parameters of your controller.  Not promoting them per sea…

An electric brushless DC motor is a wonder in a sailboat with the proper control of its power output. Use patients, the connections can look overwhelming but the wires coming from the Kelly’s are well thought out, not perfect but a good plan is way better than no plan. Call them when you are working on it.

Have fun,

Kevin Mannell
