Thanks for the input. It's inspiring to hear a old outboard can be used. I have a old Mercury mariner 4hp I cannot find parts for. I imagine a 1hp electric motor would work on the Newport 16? I've since bought a electric pickup truck and given up on my big electric boat project. Things are shaking out.
