Re: [Electric Boats] Marine MFD that can read electric motor controllers

The short answer: no.
To get that information, you would have to convert it. One of my winter projects is just such a thing. I have a Sevcon Gen4 controller as well.  My goal is to query the CAN messages, convert to SignalK and send through my DigitalYacht iKommunicate. From there, it should be possible to manipulate the data however it needs to be for consumption by an MFD. Many newer MFDs (or at least Vendors are claiming to) are supporting the SignalK format.

Does anyone have a marine MFD that can communicate with their motor controller? My Gen4 Sevcon does CANbus, and NEMA2000 rides on CANbus... Can things be deeply customized inside of Simrad/Raymarine/ect MFDs to query such things?
