I have a Solidnav Explorer in a 1976 Ericson 27. A few years ago the Millipak started cutting back to a reduced power (20-25 amps) pretty randomly. The error code is 8 flashes (over heat?) but I don't think it is really over heating. It can happen a minute into motoring or not at all.
Has anyone experienced this? Any thoughts on places to look.
It generally does not effect how I motor, 20 amps gives me 4 knots in flat water. If I am motoring for a long distance I try to stay around a 20 amp draw anyway. That said, I do what to fix it.
