[Electric Boats] Powerwall from Tesla, residential battery pack at $0.35/wh

So Tesla Motors announced this today.
http://www.teslamotors.com/powerwall

The price is incredible -- 10kWH pack is $3500 and the 7kWh pack is
$3000.
This includes the BMS and charging circuitry.
Includees a 10 year warranty which can be extended an additional 10
years.

These are 350-450V packs.
Weigh 100kg, 8" deep, designed for wall-mounting, either inside or
outside.

Each pack is only rated for 2kW continuous, 3.3kW peak output.
However, packs can be ganged for increased output, up to 9 in parallel,
still only a paltry 18kw continuous output.

Installation must be done by trained electrician.

I would like to see optional pack voltages so that we could order 48,
72, 144V packs.

For larger boats that work at higher voltages, these could be
interesting, as well as for house battery banks. Would be interesting
to see what modifications can be done to increase output amperage...

Happy, happy days.
