I think my canoe has reached hull speed at about 5 MPH. 4 mph uses half the amps and if the sun is not at a good angle over the panels then 4 MPH is my self sufficient speed.
People ask me how fast my canoe will go and you know it all depends on the amount of time operating.
But my goal was to cruise 8-10 hours a day for multi days while others are happy with 2-3 hours. So I would say to figure out what you want the boat to do then figure out what will work and what won't
