Re: [Electric Boats] Daydreaming about the next project: An electric day cruiser...

Afaik its just another chinese producer.
Never heard anything negative about them, as far as that goes.
And lots of users, from online stuff.
I find the prices quite reasonable.

A servo would cost about double to triple, fwiw.

You will likely use 2-4 kW extended, which means that there should be no
overheating issues.
Probably, it will work well, imho.

I dont know how electric, efficient, or "industrial" it is.
Never seen any data, specs, or reviews.
But I havent looked, either.

Since its been around a few years, likely they are reasonably efficient.

Efficiency and some history:
More efficient essentially translates to less heat, less losses, and
longer life.

Thats why a modern motor can have no fan, and work 24x7 at 100% load in
industrial use.
Many servo motors and some VFD driven 3-phase motors are like this.

A 2.5 kW ac brushless servo is about 8 kg.
My 0.5 Hp bridgeport 3-phase motor is 18 kg.
Both are expected to last 24x7 service for 10.000 hours plus.
Difference is about 18 fold in efficiency per mass.

The Bp motor is maybe 50-70 years old, and runs fine with a modern VFD.
