Re: [Electric Boats] Daydreaming about the next project: An electric day cruiser...

Bought two so far, one is now an outboard electric conversion.  The EV bike form them works great, just haven't figured what to do with the other 48v  motor and controls.  Maybe a car conversion, or motorcycle re-do.  I trust my guy to help select the complete package that I need, have had over 100 e mails, so I have all the factory data, and data application sheets from their research.

Had one problem at first in that they upgraded the controller after I got mine – so they shipped me the new one at no cost, not even shipping either way.  If I need more, I would go to Johnson Liu, we got to know each other pretty well.  Good guy for info., good company to deal with.

I just bought a bigger boat, a catalina 27, after I take the 2700lb lead keel off, it'll be 2 tons/27 ft/9ft beam

I'm thinking 10kw motor will be ample to cruise along.  I was wondering what you think about golden motor products.   I'm looking for a quiet, brushless motor.

they quoted me $715 for 10kw, liquid cooled motor,  $598 for controller, 258 for cordless rc joy stick  throttle

do you know of their products?  whats your opinion if you do?

they also make a 20kw motor and controller for a little over $3000
