I was thinking about electric inboard power - and came up with the idea of using an old electric pallet jack. I have an industrial surplus place near me and can get one for around $500 or less. Do you think it might work to stripped the guts and use for a boat? I'm thinking of building a 18 foot power dory - it would have originally used a now antique one lung hit & miss type motor. Maybe a slow turning pallet jack motor setup might fit the bill? Hopefully ? Crazy ? I don't know - that's why I'm asking for guidance. What do you think?
