Oh also the torque must indeed be considered but that is done with the motor mounting plate. The thrust bearing transfers axial thrust to the hull. Otherwise in direct drive you would have the shaft pushing forward on the motor shaft, and the motor is not designed for axial loads and it will FAIL catastrophically and prematurely. The thrust bearing transfers the push of the prop shaft to the hull through whatever you build for the purpose and so protects the motor. Very important. You can mount the motor mounting plate to the same made up framework.
