Well the integrated Lithium battery can be charged whilst running or not running, connected to the motor or not to the motor. Both options.
Charge controller or a simple fuse would make sure the 3.6 amp charge does not exceed 4 amp limit that's designed to charge the battery.
I'm pushing a 24' waterman motor canoe designed by Selway Fisher.
One fully charged battery can be in use on the motor and I can charge the spare under way or charge the battery thats running the engine both options are possible.
