Re: [Electric Boats] Re: Siandra unplugged

It will be interesting to see what Mastervolt come up with , with the Drivemaster Ultra Hybrid.
The Nanni , which is the same KW as the Mastervolt , develops 65 NM at 1000 RPM , as far as I can figure.
The 75hp engine in a boat I was looking at yesterday develops 275NM at just 400  RPM .
It will be interesting to see how much they ask for the Drivemaster.

I was in contact with one of the authors just after I installed my system several years ago. I know they were unhappy with the regen issue. I have been doing just fine without it.  I'd be interested to read why they are going back to diesel I for one would never consider it. I am so happy I made the jump to electric propulsion. I'll be splashing my boat tomorrow and should have the mast in early next week. I'm looking forward to season four since my install.

Adding my opinion before I get a chance to read the article, I would say that this situation seems reasonable. I've always said that an electric re-power is an excellent idea, for certain boats and use cases. For others, the compromises may not work out in their favor.

That said, I'm impressed that they took the plunge and gave the new driveline a couple of years before trying another solution.
