Re: [Electric Boats] Hunter 30 Power Plant

Hi Martin,
My second install was a Hunter 30 located in St. Augustine, Florida. Have a look at the owners website at
www.silentrunningsystems.com

The motor shown has a double shaft to allow coupling to a diesel if the reduced range had been a problem. The first time the boat was splashed, it motored for nine hours using a Honda 2kw into a nasty tide with a stiff breeze on the nose. I've since sent David a larger motor, but his original one keeps running just fine.

The Hunter was an easy conversion. I flew in with the motor in the afternoon, and left the next day at noon with the install complete. David has sold several systems since then.

Be Well,

My aging Hunter 30's YSB12 has gotten to the point where its rebuild or replace.

Going electric appeals to me but wonder if anyone has any experience with a 1977 Hunter 30, Cherabinni designed boat. She is a great sailor but she was always underpowered.

Cost is a factor and time is an issue, don't want to lose the whole summer at this point.
