| Rob, I believe, that this forum could function as a map for people, to decide, if going electric is for them. Electric propulsion is for some applications and some people a great idea, for others a sure road to frustration. It helps if you're the kind of sailor, who takes pride in sailing the max and minimal usage of the auxiliary. It helps if you start by choosing, the right hull. It helps, if you're rich. It helps, if you're not electrically challenged It helps, to have a good location Etc. So it is limited to a niche, where most/all conditions are right. But that niche is slowly growing in size and there is a huge field for experiment and development. If somebody, with a more administrative mind than mine, would create and update this status quo map of boat propulsion with different colors for applications between very satisfactory and totally wacky, such would be a useful tool for new members.
