Re: [Electric Boats] Re: Folkboat Conversion

Dear Warren,

Visit www.advancedmarineelectricpropulsion.com for a look at a direct drive system. The system works well with lighter pitched props and smaller boats, but it can also turn a 14x9 3-blade in a 30ft 12,000lb boat using a more powerful controller. A total 5kw system is not cheap.

Please visit Thunderstruck-EV, Electric Yacht, and SolidNav for a look at some other optionss. Thunderstruck offers a Mars motor and controller which can provide considerable cost savings over the AMeP system, but will require additional reduction fabrication. Both Electric Yacht and SolidNav have configured reductions, and offer considerably more user-friendly controls. The AMeP motor is sealed against submersion, and, with direct drive, has just one moving part. The system is designed for 10,000 hours of service-free operation.

Be Well,
Arby Bernt

Nobody has a simpler system on the market than Arby Burnt at Advanced E. marine

prop shaft, power leads connect to battery bank and a small wire out to the
control at the helm ..
