[Electric Boats] LIFEPO4 for house bank

I wanted to start a discussion on the merits of using LIFEPO4 batteries as a hose bank. We just bought a 35’ Wauquiez Pretorien. It has a suspect house bank – four t-105 cells. On paper, and new, this would be a 450ah 12v bank. We will be FULL –TIME cruising, hopefully starting next spring.

I am toying with the idea of a 260 or 300ah Thundersky bank to replace it. The weight savings would be substantial, and I imagine it would take more amps from both the 120a alternator and the solar/wind we have. A house bank BMS has been designed by the Mini-BMS guy.

So what do you think about this? One of my concerns is that there would be times when the battery would be kept near fully charged more or less consistently. This would be at perhaps the 13.8v – 14.1v or so, still under max charge for the cells, but up there.

Do you know of anyone who has had a LIFEPO4 house bank for long?
